So, I can report to you that I am not in fact crazy. Several doctors here on Maui have confirmed my hypothesis. So, I will give you my craziest of crackpot theories. Football has replaced baseball as the American game. I know why.Baseball is a game of the 18th century, football is a game of the twentieth. Baseball has been mired in Congressional investigations. Football has not been invited to appear on Capitol Hill because they are busy trying to fix their problems.
The NFL has been called the No Fun League since the 80s. I disagree. It may stand for not for long. Maybe. The NFL is a case study in Social Democracy. There is only one set of rules. Everybody must follow them. Everybody including Bill Belicheck. Spygate was pretty tame as scandals go. Betcha Selig wishes he was just an owner. I wouldn't want his job for all the money in the world. And while I am on that subject I would like to mention baseball's first commissioner, Kennesaw Mountain Landis. He knew that a commissioner could not be an owner or answerable to the owners. Did the baseball owners forget this. I doubt it. I also can't wait for Ms. Condoleeza Rice to clean up that league.
